Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle
The National Museum of Paris has the most important insects
collection of the world with about 100 million specimens.
Concerning Rutelinae, the MNHN holds all the types of Blanchard and a good many of Bates
ones; up to now this Collection remains less important than the ZMHB one (Zoological
Museum für Naturkunde der Humbold-Universität of Berlin) because of the eminent work of
Doctor Ohaus and the great number of types he brought there; Nevertheless I hope, by
continuous additions, that the MNHN Rutelinae collection will be soon the first of the
World as it is for so many other tribes.
